Booyah! Amazon Claus delivered today! ;) I finally got that "Ghost In The Shell" manga I've been meaning to get in my collection for years now. I delved into it a bit while I was at my brother's house, but I haven't even scratched the surface. Which is a good thing of course. What's not a good thing though, is the mild shock of the manga not living up to the t.v. and film adaptations I've grown so fond of. I love them so much. But like I said, I only just got into it... I'm sure it'll ramp up. The art's pretty great and the story is there... and that's all that matters. It's just a bit more jokey and uhhh... light than the films and anime are. But that's cool...
The one thing I've thoroughly clawed and dove into is PJ Harvey's "To Bring You My Love". It's amazing how many 5-Star tracks are on this album. It's an auditory overload. It's so great. It's definitely a "break-up album", but the grandeur of the talent of the work overshadows any single emotion. So it's definitely not a downer... it's just downright beautiful. I'm in fuckin' love. :D And on that note, I think I should make some more love with this work... since I have it blaring in my ears right now (listening to "Long Snake Moan").
Anyway, I need some downtime. My brother's "4th of July BBQ" on the 7th is tomorrow/today and I gotta be up nice and early to help prepare for the festivities. It's all the way up in Pasadena and there are a few things I have to help the parents transport. Fun, fun, fun. ;) Night night you masochists. ;)
