"Film Fetish" is the name of my new movie review "feature". I'm a huge film fanatic, so it seemed only natural that I make a place to rant on about the latest movie I've seen. I suspect I'll break these posts into three parts. The first will probably consist of a synopsis of the film including the title, of course, the director, release date, etc. Followed up by my "review"... I say review in quotes because I don't exactly want to judge the films, although that's exactly what I'll be doing. This all stems from my unease with critics or criticism in general, especially in film. I often feel critics lose sight of what it is they should be doing. They're more often concerned with the technical aspects of film, rather than the spirit of the art. I'm more concerned with the way in which film moves us. And certainly bad production can be a detriment to that experience, but I feel often people are hypercritical when they don't need to be. Even still, I will have scores... so take that for what it's worth. :P They're nothing to take too seriously though, just meant to indicate whether something is worth watching (at or above 5/10) or not (4/10 and below).
Finally, the third part of my film fetish feature will include spoilers for you intrepid readers *S*. I kinda need a place to fawn over my favorite bits, and I can't do that without spoiling the movie for those of you who haven't seen the film in question. So if you don't want to, you can bail out early. I'll have everything clearly marked.
Anyway, that's it! I've actually seen a couple of movies the past few days... but I'm cheating and drawing this out some more. Why blow my load all at once? Especially when I have a whole year ahead of me. ;) :P
