Explained, "The Art"

It was only a matter of time until I began sharing my artwork with the world. That time has finally come. I'm adding "The Art" as another regular feature of this blog; a place to showcase my artwork. It'll be a slow rollout since I'm going through the process of re-digitizing a lot of what I had already completed. Actually I'm starting from scratch. I chucked everything I worked through in Photoshop when I was backing up files for the re-install of my system. Now that I have everything in place, I'm taking out the original pieces and re-scanning them and working them through GIMP.

For the moment, I'll just be working on uploading pieces I feel comfortable "letting go" with. For the most part, a lot of what I work on (even "completed" pieces) I feel are works-in-progress. Just mental snapshots of ideas I don't want to lose. I plan to go back through these "sketches" in the future and refine them. Personally, I don't feel I've perfected my technique... so it all works out quite well for the moment. Once I feel I've matured in that regard, I can go back and try to fully realize my visions.

Some of these visions though, are at a standstill. I've three books in the works, three "projects". The one furthest along, "David's Book / The Blue Book", contain some pieces I've more or less abandoned. I won't return to them, or share them, until I'm ready to go back and refine the rest of the work. At that time, I plan on releasing them alongside their "true" counterparts. The only works I want consumed, are the "completed" ones.

Okay, enough jibber jabber. The last thing I'll say is that I want this blog to be the ultimate "guide" to my Art. I've already begun seeding my work here and there on the Net with mild "explanations" of what I had in mind, but I want the explanations here to be the most detailed and involved.

I had planned to post some artwork with this post, but it's snowballed into a much larger post than I had anticipated. So I'll leave this as an "Explained" post for "The Art".

DS333, sharing.
